Summer Home Maintenance Advice
Posted on: July 29, 2016 by Signature Insurance Group

Summer is in full-swing and while you might be ready to host the next BBQ or enjoy a day at the pool, your home likely requires some TLC. Therefore, you can get your home looking its best with the following simple summer maintenance checklist. Furthermore, be sure to secure your home with a comprehensive Southern California Home Insurance policy.
Tune up your AC.
Naturally, this is the time of year where you’ll use your AC the most. To keep it running smoothly and efficiently, be sure to change the filter. Check to make sure that the refrigerant levels, the coils, and fans are all in good working order to prevent unwanted emergencies.
Inspect the roof.
The harsh effects of winter can take a toll on your roof. Inspect it to identify any missing shingles or sagging areas that could lead to disaster. If any are spotted, hire a professional to replace the missing shingles and to patch up any weak spots.
Window check.
Make sure the summer heat stays outside by checking your windows. Ensure that both inside and out are secured. Caulk any open areas in between. Also, check weather-stripping for any faults and replace it immediately if there is an issue. Taking care of windows will keep your home looking and feeling good, says She Knows.
Pool clean-up.
Refill the pool, check the pH, and ensure the pumps are working. This will get it ready for summer and all the visitors you are likely to have this summer season.
Power wash the exterior of your home.
A quick power wash will get rid of built up dirt and grime. Not only will it keep the home looking fresh, but it will prevent mold and mildew, as well.
